Missouri

Well, here I am in a huge van on the way home with my new host family, headed for Joplin, Missouri. That's in the Southwestern part of the state. I'm really enjoying watching the scenery as we drive. We just passed by a gigantic water tower with a huge mural of racehorses painted on it! I also got to ride in a carriage pulled by a Belgian mare. What a beauty!!

We've just crossed the Mississippi River - TWICE!! It is so muddy! And BIG! My hostess took me to Lambert's Cafe in Sikeston today. When people in Missouri say their hungry say their hungry, they mean it!! Lambert's is the "Home of the Throwed Rolls", and their not kidding! They literally throw the rolls as you! Some of them were as big as I am!

We're making a slight detour to Bernie, Missouri to visit some of my hostess's friends. Then we leave for Springfield, Missouri and the Fuddruckers' restaurant that's there. After that, we're homeward bound.

We made it to Joplin safely. Today my hostess took me out to meet her horses and other critters. There's one Arabian mare that is absolutely gorgeous. Her name is Lightning and she is a white 24 year old mare. They also have about 15 Pygmy goats. The babies are so cute! They bounce in circles around my hostess. They're too funny!
