New York

I MADE IT TO BROOKLYN, NY! 9.28.01 Wow what a long, hard stuffy flight from Texas! It seemed like I was stuck in JFK forever! Flying is definitely not the best part of this adventure but I must fly to see things so I guess III have to get used to it eventually.

I must say that so far Brooklyn, NY is not what I imagined it to be. I thought people would be a bit rude and quick with me but everyone is so friendly and kind. I arrived early and had to wait a bit in the box. I actually didn't mind as I was so tired and was able to doze in and out of sleep. When my hostess arrived home from work it was already nearing 6:30 PM Eastern time and they were set to eat dinner. Oh I was famished! Airline peanuts only go so far!

My hosts were so happy to have me that they welcomed me here with a big bottle of red wine and a huge Italian meal. (DON'T WORRY, I only had a sip!) One thing about a Brooklyn Italian family, they sure love to feed their guests. They have weird accents here. Instead of saying "water' they say "watta" I'm trying to mimic them without them hearing but they caught me. We laughed like crazy for 'howas"

After dinner and desert MY host, Jenn invited me to rest a bit in the best bed in the house. Guess I was so overtired and content that I slept the entire night!!!!! I woke this morning to find that she had placed a teddy bear next to me incase I needed some comfort during the night.

9.29.01 I am set to meet all her horses today. I'm a bit nervous as I hear a few attended a live show last weekend and they all did really well. You know how I feel about that show stuff. Makes me a bit uncomfortable but Jenn reassures me that everyone is down to earth and extremely friendly and not snobbish at all. They have been excited about my arrival. Apparently the mares have prepared a nice stall for me during my visit. The stall is in an actual Breyer sized stable. Hmmm .... Im not sure about that as that bed was really comfortable last night

Oh, I almost forgot to mention that I made a friend here too. Her name is Kiko! She is a Shih TZU. Kiko saw that I woke early and invited me to walk about with her this morning before Jenn got up. I asked her if she likes playing cards but she said she didn't know how. I told her I would teach her if she had cards but she said she couldn't find them She found a ball instead and we played some kickball this morning.

Opps I better (betta) run. My bagel is waiting for me. Jenn tells me that in my travels I will never taste a bagel as good as a Brooklyn bagel. Something about the watta?
