She was still waving her tail goodbye as the helicopter lifted off. I looked over the expansive glacier which seemed to stretch in all directions and thought about all of the friends I have met. The line of the camp set high on the glacial face dwindled away to a dot. I thought it had to be the strangest place I had ever met a friend. I would miss her. That was the one drawback to traveling so much. You had to leave so many friends behind.

Erica seemed to understand my mood and was pretty quiet for the trip down. She was a great person and I thanked her for sharing her time with me. She helped me out of the helicopter and said her goodbyes as well.

I met up with my host who took me around town once more. He stopped at a beautiful waterfall and let me check it out. I wanted to take a sip but he advised against it. He said it was melt water from the glacier and was ice cold. It sure was pretty though.

When we got back to his place he got out my travel box. I had been here just a few days but because of the long daylight hours it seemed like weeks. I actually looked forward to napping on the way home and happily snuggled into the padded container.
