Wow! Mom wasn't kidding about this being a quick trip. No sooner was I packed up than I arrived at Chicago O'Hara Airport. It has got to be one of the busiest airports I have ever been in. I met my host family here and their new son Alexander. Hey! Did you know people came in stablemate size too? He was so little. He was fun to be around because he made the silliest noises.

The next day My host and his brother took me to play a game called golf. It was ....... well, it was interesting. There are a lot of really green pastures. Unfortunately they have a gopher problem. There are holes everywhere but you don't have to worry about stepping in them and hurting a leg because they are all marked with a flag. Anyway, the object of the game is to hit a little ball into one of the gopher holes. I wasn't very good at it. My host said that I was "way over par". I'm pretty sure that is bad. I had fun though because I got to drive the golf cart and afterwards I got to keep the ball.

Later we drove to Door county Wisconsin where I saw Lake Michigan. It was huge! I couldn't see the other side. The shoreline was so beautiful with wildflowers growing among the stones. I ran and played in the flowers until it was time to go.

That night we watched fireworks. It was pretty but kinda scary too. They were very  loud.

Next stop. Alaska!
